The first Defense fliers that Neville and I discussed are done. We just need to decide who to give them too. I think our safest bets are to stick with the ones who showed up to Hagrid's party, for now. Although I'd be willing to entertain the idea of others, if anyone feels like there is someone else who is trustworthy and could benefit.
Hannah and I can take care of making sure the Hufflepuffs get these, but I need some other house representatives to help with the others.

Hagrid's party went off pretty well, all things considered. I'm sad to see him go, because we could always use more people on our side, but at least no one got caught. I think it was a good morale booster for those who attended.
Now to suss out this new professor. He looks a bit young to be teaching, I think.

Well Holidays weren't as bad as they could have been, I suppose. It was nice spending all of that extra time with Hannah this year. I only wish it wasn't due to the circumstances. I knew they had it rough, but I'm starting to think her dad is never going to recover. It was like he barely registered that Hannah and Jill were home. Of course I kept thinking mum would say something rude, but at least she still has a sense of tact when other people are around.
At least I got what I needed to help really stick it to the Carrows this term. Nothing mum said is going to deter me from that.

I received a letter from my mother last week. I know we've suspected the mail was off for a while, but with today confirming that, I've been wondering whether or not this one was tampered with. I can't tell.
Well, no. That's a lie. I can tell it's her. It's exactly the same things she's been saying to me for years. It was easy to ignore it before, because she's my mother. But no amount of disappointment can mask my judgement anymore.
Home won't be as bad as this place, but I'm not sure how much I'm really looking forward to the holidays either.

What sort of Dark Arts notes did you take? Were they specific about who was good at what? Or just a general list of spells we've been learning.

What happened at breakfast yesterday made my stomach turn. I hope none of us end up in Parvati's situation. If something is on your mind, or you feel like you need to do something, please come talk to me. I'm not a terrible problem solver. While I can't change rules you don't like, I do think it's important to have a sounding board. With the changing dynamics of the school, we need to stick together and take care of each other.

Well I asked her, but Susan doesn't seem at all willing to join the IS. I already knew she wouldn't be pleased with the idea, but I was unprepared for the backlash. She is pushing very, very hard against the idea for unknown reasons. I gather she doesn't think the risks involved will ever out weigh the benefits we could garner from knowing what they're up to. (She used the word 'idiocy').
Supposedly she is going to think about it, but I think she's already made up her mind. I'll do it in the likely case she says no, but we're going to have to devise a huge ploy to make it work. I have pureblood on my side, but that's about it.
Anyway, I was thinking Terry should try to talk to her about it. He may make more headway than I can right now.
